Well hello there

Welcome to the sixth Oxjam Aberdeen. Every year Oxjam puts up a good show for all. This year we want to continue the good work for all of you who are going to attend the music takeover on Friday October 17 2014!

What is Oxjam?

Oxjam is Oxfam’s month-long music festival. It runs throughout October with hundreds of events around the UK, all organised by people who know and love their local music scene.

Rock. Dance. Classical. Jazz. Whatever you’re into. The idea is that everyone has a good time as well as raising funds for Oxfam’s vital work.

Local music, global impact!

Oxfam is a vibrant global movement of dedicated people fighting poverty. Together. From saving lives and developing projects that put poor people in charge of their lives and livelihoods to campaigning for change that lasts.

Since the first festival in 2006, Oxjam has raised more than £1.75 million in total for Oxfam’s work. That’s enough to buy 15,000 emergency shelters, 70,000 goats or 1050 classrooms!!!

Ways you can help!

1. Go to the event
2. Take your friends with you
3. Tell all the people you know where are you going
4. Text JAM0007 to 70066 (donates £3)
5. Host a fundraiser for us (from buskathons on rickshaws to rhyme duels to classic shave-offs and bake sales) – tell us that you do, we’ll tell our friends too and post it here!
6. E-MAIL the team and tell us if you want to help out on the main concert day
7. Or maybe you own a business and would like to sponsor us?
8. You know someone who knows someone who has a skill that we may need? Again, let us know!
